During this holiday season, we are reminded of our friends, family, community and other relationships. As a District, we are grateful for many people. Let’s make a point to share with our students that they are the reason that we as teachers and staff continue to push forward and share our passion for education and learning. Let’s ensure our students know that we care for them.
But, let us not forget to say thank you to each other. As staff, we can often times forget how much we depend on each other to keep things running smooth or forget to recognize and give thanks for those that are going the extra mile. Show your appreciation with a note, a thank you, a hug or high five.
It’s not all about our staff and students. We have many volunteers and partners in our District that commit countless hours to our students and staff. We, as a District, truly believe our volunteers are invaluable. Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless. We couldn’t go about the daily routine without their compassion and support.
Lastly, as we share our holiday with family this Thanksgiving. Enjoy each and every precious moment with your family. Remember to be grateful for family members. Spend a few extra minutes on the “long Minnesota good-bye” or cozy up on the couch for just one more movie.
From all of us at District 742 to all of you, Happy Thanksgiving!
